Most probably you will be a mechanical engineer with good experience in job management / project management but also able to make a contribution in design. You will need to have a good understanding of ESD in order to have credibility with staff and to work effectively with clients.

    As a key member of the Project Team you will bring up to date knowledge of all relevant legislation, codes of practise and international standards.

    This job is based in the Wellington Office of a progressive consulting company. You will be working on mechanical design projects in the oil and gas, dairy or similar industries.
    Ideally you will:
     
    • Be a degree-qualified mechanical engineer
    • Have 5 years plus engineering design and problem solving skills
    • Have excellent verbal, written, presentation and communications skills
    • Be familiar with estimating and bidding new work

    Besides design skills you will need:
    • Contract administration and construction supervision experience
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • A degree in chemicval and process engineering
    • Relevant experience ideally in consulting

    Key accountabilities of the role are:
    • To provide specialist technical support for operations, tender and project execution.
    • To ensure conformity of activities with policy, laws, regulations and industry standards.
    • Development of project methodologies.
    • Management of all Health & Safety issues.
    • Liaise and manage contracted external consultancy services.
    • Assist with future business initiatives.

    Your areas of responsibility will consist of Operations, Storage Admin, Support and Problem Management; however the key focus will remain on Storage and Capacity.
     
    Monitoring SAN devices, capacity management, configuration & upgrading SAN, documentation, and, system tuning & performance are all part of the puzzle with this role. You will also be completing complex server and network configurations, monitoring bandwidth use, and working with the Service Desk team to resolve complex issues.

    To be successful in this role you’ll have a relevant tertiary qualification (science/engineering), pay absolute attention to detail, be a great communicator with both internal and external stakeholders, have a high level of computer literacy and have a working knowledge of ERP systems, preferably SAP.
