Our client is a key contributor to the development of tunnelling and underground projects within New Zealand and the Pacific Regions. Due to growth strategies, they now have a requirement for a SENIOR TUNNELLING ENGINEER to join their Auckland based team.

Key accountabilities of the role are:

• To provide specialist technical support for operations, tender and project execution.
• To ensure conformity of activities with policy, laws, regulations and industry standards.
• Development of project methodologies.
• Management of all Health & Safety issues.
• Liaise and manage contracted external consultancy services.
• Assist with future business initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years experience in a similar role and industry. The key competencies that we are looking for include:

• Appropriate tertiary qualifications with specialisation in geotechnical or tunnelling engineering.
• Membership to professional bodies. (MIPENZ)(CPEng).
• Competency with international codes and standards relating to this field.
• Strong oral & written presentation abilities.
• Experience in leadership of external consultants, project engineers, design teams and much more

The successful candidate will be offered a rewarding remuneration package including a base salary in the $115K - $125K region, company vehicle, health insurance and 6% employer super contribution.
