In line with this mission and due to an expanding demand for high quality management information, we have increased the size of our Management Reporting and Analysis team within the New Zealand Financial Control Department. In this new role you will be reporting to the Finance Manager and working closely with the senior management of HSBC, both locally and offshore.

Your main responsibilities will include:
  • Partnering one or more designated business lines
  • Completion of monthly financial reports and supplementary schedules including a high level of analysis and commentary
  • Assisting with the implementation and updating of customer and product profitability reporting
  • Completion of the annual operating plan and rolling forecasts for one or more defined business areas
  • System administration, implementation, and upgrades
  • Financial analysis and reporting
  • Project management
  • Automation and rationalisation of activities.
To be successful in this role, you will hold an under-graduate degree in commerce or finance and be a qualified or part qualified CA. This will be supported with a minimum of two years experience within a finance team, working in positions encompassing analysing complex concepts and projects and building your understanding of the financial services market.

In addition you will have strong Excel and project management skills, and thrive in an environment of autonomy. Your communication skills will be second to none as will your dedication to exceptional internal customer service. Finally, you will be known for your ability to explain financial information to non-accountants. Not always an easy task!
